Michael Wrede
Michael is the Founding Partner of MWC. He a senior banking professional with over 30 years’ experience with leading banks in investment banking and private banking in the UK, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and the Middle East, having worked in senior positions at ABN AMRO, Credit Suisse, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and at First Abu Dhabi Bank.

Throughout his career Michael has had the opportunity to be in leadership positions to build and grow businesses and teams. He has extensive experience in businesses strategy development and execution, business development, investment management, product development, sales management and client management and acquisition.
He headed the UK and Jersey private banking activities for ABN AMRO, was a member of the private banking management team at Credit Suisse in the UK, and he was the CEO, Head of Private Banking and Country Head Switzerland at National Bank of Abu Dhabi and First Abu Dhabi Bank.

Michael is an entrepreneurial and results focused professional with an international network and strong industry and product knowledge across Asset Management, Corporate & Investment Banking, and International and Onshore Private Banking.

Michael has 20+ years experience in private banking, first in senior product and strategy roles where he developed and implemented organic and inorganic growth strategies, before moving into CEO roles. Throughout his career he has been actively involved in advising UHNW individuals and their families.
Prior to his career in private banking Michael spent over 10 years in investment banking focusing on transaction origination and execution. ​
Since leaving banking at the end of 2018 he has advised clients in the financial, real estate, asset management, IP, media, fintech and marine sectors on a wide range of matters including strategy, corporate restructuring, business development, M&A, capital raising, public and private market investments and family governance.

Michael has a Law degree from King's College, London, and an MBA from Cranfield University.
